Samsung Solve for Tomorrow program receives 50,000 registrations: All details

Samsung recently organized an educational and innovation contest on a nationwide level, which received a remarkable response. The company expressed its delight at the overwhelming participation, with over 50,000 registrations coming from all corners of the country. It was particularly noteworthy that the event saw active involvement from youth hailing from smaller towns like Begusarai, Chitradurga, Dharwad, Gulbarga, Jalpaiguri, Khurda, North 24 Parganas, Madhubani, and Pathanamthitta. These talented individuals shared their innovative ideas aimed at addressing real-world challenges and making a positive social impact on the lives of those around them.

To participate in the competition, individuals or groups of up to three members can apply for Solve for Tomorrow on the Samsung website before 5 pm on May 31, 2023. The top three teams in the competition will have the opportunity to win Rs 1.5 crore to turn their ideas into action.

Samsung will select the most promising contenders from the pool of applications received for their national education and innovation competition. The top 30 teams will then receive extensive training and mentorship from Samsung and esteemed partners such as the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) at IIT Delhi and the MeitY Startup Hub. This support will be provided through a residential bootcamp at IIT Delhi, where the teams will refine and develop their ideas with expert guidance.

To aid the progress of their projects, each of the top 30 teams will receive a grant of Rs 20,000 to create initial prototypes. They will then present these prototypes to a panel of judges consisting of young Samsung employees and experts from FITT, IIT Delhi, and the MeitY Startup Hub. From this selection process, the top 10 teams will be awarded Rs 100,000 each to further improve their prototypes based on feedback from the jury and mentors.

The conclusion of this annual program will be marked by the announcement of three national winners. These exceptional teams will not only receive recognition as the best, but they will also have the chance to win an impressive prize money of Rs 1.5 crore, along with exciting Samsung products.

Originally introduced in the United States in 2010, Solve for Tomorrow has now expanded its reach to 63 countries worldwide. Over the years, more than 2.3 million young individuals globally have enthusiastically participated in this program, showcasing its significant impact and popularity.
